Nine products from PPG Industries’ architectural coatings business recently received GREENGUARD Certification, aiming to protect human health through reduced air-quality effects and reduced chemical exposure. The certification process, supported by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, helps manufacturers create interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, reducing impact on air quality while the products are used. Certifications in several program segments help buyers identify and trust brands and products to use for important projects. The following products recently received GREENGUARD Certification for the Indoor Air Quality and Children & Schools programs: Seal Grop Interior/Exterior Acrylic Universal Primer/Sealer This product is especially formulated to block most stains – water, smoke, ink, marker, and tannin. It has exceptional adhesion to glossy surfaces and can be used as a whole-house primer. PPG Speedhide Interior Enamel Eggshell Latex This product is an economical solution for both commercial maintenance and new construction. This low-VOC (volatile organic compound), low-odor paint enables an occupied space to be painted while delivering the durable product performance required. PPG Speedhide Interior Semi-Gloss Acrylic Latex This product is an economical solution for both commercial maintenance and new construction. This low-VOC, low odor paint enables an occupied space to be painted while delivering the durable product performance required. Pitt-Glaze WB1 Interior Eggshell Pre-Catalyzed Waterborne Acrylic Epoxy This product is a one-component acrylic epoxy eggshell coating for interior use in commercial, institutional and light industrial environments. It is a low-odor replacement for traditional two-component acrylic epoxy products providing a recoatable impact- and mildew-resistant finish. Pitt-Glaze WB1 Interior Semi-Gloss Pre-Catalyzed Waterborne Acrylic Epoxy This product is a one-component acrylic epoxy semi-gloss coating for interior use in commercial, institutional and light industrial environments. It is a low-odor replacement for traditional two-component acrylic epoxy products providing a recoatable impact- and mildew-resistant finish. Speedhide Super Tech WB Interior 100% Acrylic Dry-Fog Flat Latex This product is a premium, fast-drying, low-VOC flat designed for interior ceilings and overhead surfaces. With its excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, this low-odor dry-fog is formulated to have excellent flash rust resistance. Speedhide Super Tech WB Interior 100% Acrylic Dry-Fog Semi-Gloss Latex This product is a premium, fast-drying, low-VOC semi-gloss designed for interior ceilings and overhead surfaces. With its excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, this low-odor dry-fog is formulated to have excellent flash rust resistance. Pitt-Tech Plus Interior/Exterior DTM Industrial Primer This product is an easy-to-use, 100-percent acrylic waterborne primer recommended for use on properly prepared interior or exterior metal surfaces for maintenance or new commercial construction in light to moderate industrial climates. Pitt-Tech Plus Interior/Exterior Semi-Gloss DTM Industrial Enamel This product is a 100-percent acrylic semi-gloss waterborne coating developed for direct-to-metal applications. It offers superior protection while providing excellent color and gloss retention. The GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification Program(SM) showcases products in office environments and indoor spaces that meet strict chemical emissions limits and contribute to healthy interiors. The GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification Program(SM) supports products used in schools, day care centers and other environments for children. These certified materials and products meet strict criteria and are referenced by both the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the LEED Building Rating System. These products join existing GREENGUARD Certified PPG product lines of Speedhide zero and Pure Performance paints.
